A machete is a broad, lightweight, single-edged cutting blade built for utility, most often associated with clearing dense brush and forest. The Watcher's Chronicles note that few Immortals have willingly carried this as their main blade. Carlo Sendaro and Enrique Grimaldo are two notable exceptions. Both used a longer-than-normal slant tip machete. The flat, wide blade is fairly heavy and sharpened only on one side. The cross-guard is almost nonexistent, offering little protection but allowing complete freedom of movement. The tip angles out at a 45-degree angle from the edge, forming a heavy chopping point capable of splitting brush, wood, or bone.
