Highlander The Card Game
A little history
Highlander the card game is based on the Highlander franchise of films, tv series, comic books and novel. The Highlander Universe itself is broken up into different continuities (TV Series continuity and a few movie continuities). The card game mirrors that approach but allows you to play characters from either continuity against each other. Getting to simulate fights between characters that never happened on screen or in the books.
1995
What is now known as the first edition of Highlander the card game was released by Thunder Castle Games. Created by Mike Sager, it quickly established itself as one of the more popular TCG games in the 90's, first edition includes the following sets:

1997-1999
Thunder Castle Games pushes the boundaries of the TCG CCG space by innovating with ideas like Rip Cards, Quickenings, Prize Support, and a Nexus rankings systems. World Championships are held yearly at Gencon throughout the 90's.
New formats and play types are introduced as well.
2002
MLE - The Missing Link Expansion is released. The MLE expansions were a free-to-download digital only version of the game that was an unofficial release. It was quite popular with players who played in the 1990's as they waited for more, official sets to get released. As of 2022, it has been officially shut down.
2004
SAEC Games publishes a 1st Edition set known as the Black Raven set that contained cards for older characters released in the 1990s as well as new cards from the spinoff TV show Highlander the Raven.
2007-2018
The 2nd Edition of Highlander the card game is released by La Montagnard Inc. This is still the current edition that most players play to this day.
Around 2012, the Versus Set concept was released. These are playable, 2 character sets that you can crack open and start playing.
2022
The Legacy 3 Set for Highlander the Card Game is released. This set contains 100 plus new cards for existing immortals and one new immortal. You can order these cards from this site via the Ala Carte page. The full collectors set is sold out.
