He began experimenting with the Quania Root, and lives on Holy Ground so he will not be disturbed by The Game as he searches for his own version of the Prize. The Kindjal is the Short Sword version of the legendary Russian Cossack sabre, the Shashkas. There were many different types of fighting styles using the Kindjal: ranging from using it with a Shashkas to using it singly or with a buckler for fast, close combat situations. The Kindjal was a standard weapon in the Russian military well into the mid-20th century. Functionally, the kris is not a slashing weapon like a bowie knife or other fighting knife, but rather a stabbing instrument. There are many stories of a kris being made especially for killing a specific person.
