Bartholomew -- Crusade Shield
The oldest form of the shield was as protection from hand weapons and simple missle weapons like spears, slings and arrows. Shields have varied over time and design ranging from bucklers to tower shields, and were made from everything spanning from stretched animal hides to wood, wicker and metals like bronze, iron and steel.
You may play this Weapon of Choice with another One-Handed Weapon of Choice.
UPSIDE: You may play blocks against Ranged Attacks.
DOWNSIDE: Your first attack cannot be played to areas you blocked this turn, regardless of any other effects, unless they are Shield specific attacks.

Katherine was born in Samothrace, a small Greek island in the northern Aegean Sea in the year of 326 BC. Unfortunately her first death was as a casuality of a volcanic eruption in 292 BC. She was later found by her first teacher, Mantinea of Pylus, who taught her of her immortality and how to survive. Throughout her many centuries, she has continued to follow her heart and upbringing and has helped others ranging from being a village healer to using some of her more lucrative skills as a thief and mercenary. In 1993, she married her current husband Nick Sutherland. They own an island in Figi as their get-away and she has one mantra she always claims for their anniversary:
"No Phones, no guns, no tan lines."

Swiss Long Sword (Mercenary Blade)

This long sword was made popular by the Swiss, but was actually used more by German mercenaries who were becoming widely popular. The Swiss version of the sword bore very little markings, unlike German counterpart, which was adorned in the style of the colorful soldiers who wielded it. Historian Paul Jovious made the first record of the Swiss using this sword in 1495, and it soon became popular in German fencing circles.
UPSIDE: You may make unaltered 3 or 5 card Exertions. You must announce the size before making the Exertion. After making a Hard Exertion, you may place one attack found in the Exertion on top of your Endurance.
DOWNSIDE: You cannot play Illusions from an Exertion.

Born George Gordon Noel Byron in 1788, the man who would become known as Lord Byron lived in luxury and opalescence. He committed suicide and was found and trained by Methos, who was posing as a Doctor at the time. Byron's killing of Hans Kirschner was the basis for Mary Shelley's book Frankenstein. In the 20th Century, Byron is a rock star, living on the edge and taking young musicians down dangerous paths with him.

The origins of the sabre are somewhat unclear, and it may come from designs such as the falchion or the scimitar used in the Middle Ages by such Central Asian cavalry as the Turks, Tatars and Mongols. The sabre first appeared in Europe with the arrival of the Hungarians in the 10th century.
UPSIDE: If your opponent plays an unsuccessful defense against one of your Hidden attacks that is not a Power Blow, they cannot make an Exertion for a defense to defend that attack.
