Kate Devaney, originally from Kildare, Ireland spent her mortal days traveling in luxury. In 1712, she met Duncan MacLeod and Connor MacLeod when her coach stopped and 3 thieves tried to con her and her friend out of their gold. Duncan wooed and courted her and ended up marrying her when she became Kate MacLeod. Duncan knew Kate would be an immortal and decided to take matters into his own hands and trigger her immortality so he could always be with the love of his life. In his foolish attempt at romance, Kate woke up as Duncan plunged a knife into her heart. Upon resurrecting as an immortal, Kate fled Duncan and would go on to become Faith.
