Carlo Sendaro
Born into wealth and influence in Portugal in 1498, Carlo Sendaro was perhaps always entitled, arrogant, and obsessed with self-importance. Some might say it was the curse of an only son, indulged and rarely denied; family accounts tell of a young Carlo shoving a servant’s son from a moving carriage for daring to handle one of his carved wooden soldiers. What was his remained his, and he did not forgive those who forgot it.
While exploring the Amazon, he was shot by a poison dart and suffered his First Death. He was found and taught of his immortality by Javier Valdez.
Immortality did not humble Sendaro, it liberated him. In the Amazon he claimed the influence he had always believed was his by right, exploiting native tribes to dominate the rubber trade and building a private empire carved from the jungle.
Upon returning to Europe, he wooed and courted fellow Immortal Grace Chandel, convincing her to abandon Europe and continue her research in Brazil at his side.
The bliss did not last. Over time, Grace saw the cracks in the mask and began quietly plotting her escape.
Calling Sendaro controlling would be the understatement of the century.
